Read MoreAfter doing some research on Santorini, I realized there was so much see other than the beautiful Oia Town. Santorini is surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, pretty beaches and awesome local breweries. David and I wanted to make the most of our short time in Santorini and discover everything we could. On this day, we drove up to an amazing road that led to this beautiful view. The emotions that we felt being here were indescribable. The feeling was crazy. I remember looking at David and actually hitting us…. We were actually married and traveling together. It was a huge accomplishment for us and truly a dream come true. David and I soaked up every moment of this.
After cruising down the roads of Santorini, we stopped by for a light breakfast before we our drive to Kamari Beach. Kamari beach is known as the black beach of Santorini. It is located in the village of Kamari, on the southeastern part of the Aegean island of Santorini, Greece.
This day was such an adventure. David fell in love with a local beer called Crazy Donkey, a Santorini Brewing Company. We learned that the brewery was not too far from where we were, so we decided to hunt it down! It was so much fun and a bit nerve-wracking since we didn’t have a GPS. To make the long story, short… we found the brewery, David loved it and we even brought some home!

We were beyond excited to finally arrive to Santorini, Greece! The island most talked about due to its beautiful photogenic white buildings with and breath taking beaches. David and I landed to Santorini Island by fairy. We were picked up by a taxi bus that drove us to our hotel. While arriving to our hotel, we noticed that it was a bit uphill and in the middle of a busy road. When entering the gate and being escorted to the lobby we couldn’t help but to notice the beautiful view of the Aegean Sea. After a small chat with the hotel hosts, we were led to our room. Walking there was unusual. We walked down a cave-like-alley with low lights and echoing effect. I was kind of freaked out, but hoped that it would just lead us to something beautiful. Once David and I walked into our designated room, we were completely amazzzzed. The room was incredible! We had our own private infinity pool with a beautiful view of the Caldera. It was magical.
During our stay in Athens, David and I got to visit the breathtaking landmark of the Acropolis. The Acropolis is known as the sacred hill where Greeks built temples, one being the most popular known as the Parthenon that was build to honor the goddess Athena. Our field trip to the Acropolis was a total adventure! It was hella hot that day and to be honest, I was not wearing the best shoes for the intense hike required to get to the summit. But, luckily I survived with no blisters for the day!
Wearing a hat was the greatest idea ever! It protected me so much from the sun. David and I made sure to smother ourselves with layers of sunblock, but the sweat was real, which made us have to keep reapplying sun block. Despite the hot sun, the temperature in the air was wonderfully humid and the occasional breeze provided for a refreshing sensation. Staying hydrated became critical to our endurance while roaming downtown Athens in the Plaka district.
After a long flight, David and I finally made it to Athens, Greece for our honeymoon!! Yesss, David and I got married!! (Wedding photos coming soon… J) For those who may not know much about Athens, it is the capital and largest city in Greece. The origins of Athens go back to 3000 BC, making it one of the oldest cities in the world! I know, crazy huh?! Athens is considered the foundation of Western civilization, origin of democracy, Western philosophy, literature, the Olympic Games, political science, mathematics and theatre!
Athens had such a lively, vibrant, and bustling city vibe. The weather was sunny and humid, but every now and then there would be an awesome cool breeze. Our hotel was conveniently located in the middle of the downtown, so David and I walked everywhere! We bought a map and became super comfortable with the area and wasted no time so we got to explore so much in just a few days. The downtown area was our favorite because it was always poppin’!. The highlight for me was the food, bars we went to in Athens and most of all, the long walks late at night with my hubby. It was so easy to feel like a local after the first day. It also helped that Athens natives were incredibly nice and welcoming. I immediately fell in love with this city!

Let’s talk about a mega trend that I am sure you’ve seen everywhere… CHOKERS! They are so trendy at the moment, and I absolutely can’t get enough of them. Chokers seriously takes me back to the good ole’ Spice Girl days, when I was also known as Ginger Spice – haha!
A weekend filled with bubbly, laughs, sore feet, hangovers, girl talk, “so LA moments”, twerking, and Uber driver stories.
But waaaaiittt, gotta stop right there because you know what they say… whatever happened in LA, stays in LA.
Thank you so much to all my besties for helping plan such an unforgettable weekend!
